Children are  enjoying the color changing on trees and love the sound of dry leaves. It's the beautiful time of the year.Learning is going on----both ways adults learn from children, children learn from adults and we all learn together from Mother Nature.

We can bring Nature indoors as well.

"Are you telling me a secret"

Love has no boundries.

"Chill out Tobo".
Children learn to be tolerant of other's desires and  needs, by being around pets.

Both boys decided to paint the bench in Yellow color. They peeled the prior paint all by themselves with the scrapers and painted the whole bench area.

They were very happy and proud of their wonderful work.
By having a pet  and keeping some real plants indoors we can have Nature inside as well. and at certain times when weather doesnot permit us to be outdoors we can enjoy Nature indoors.Pets are important for children; they learn to be more responsible and tolerant by taking care of a pet. Also learn to respect environment and animals. They learn about different animals and their habitat once they have one pet they become inquisitive about other animals also.

Let the Children Explore

Some times we are very afraid that children will fall and  may get hurt if they climb on trees and on unstructured play area. But actually if we let them they grow better judgement and also grow better physically and socially. As well as they develop other skills such as cognitive, motor, asthetics, social and emotional  and develop language also. Their hearing and visual skills develop as well. It is proven that children who spend more time out doors get better grades in school and are less stressed.

Vegetable Garden

Children making Apple pie from the Apples of our trees.

 Showing off a large Zuccini.

Trying to find some riped tomatoes.

"this zuccini is better".

"I can pick a cabbage"

" Yumm! it is delicious".

"It is a smaller  bell pepper". "i Think it is a Baby".
Children are enjoying their project of  growing  vegtables and picking cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden for their snack and lunch. They do like to take them home as well. Children are also getting better in trying different vegetables and fruits as well as developing taste for those fruits and vegetables they did not like to try earlier. I am amazed how much they care for their garden  by showing responsibility of their turn to water and picking weeds from the garden. They are alsovery observant about the bugs and worms in the garden. They do observe about the sizes of vegetables of same kind. Thier learning skills  in all aspects are  really developing at high rate.

Trip to Whole Foods

Children were excited and curious to learn about different vegetables and fruits. How they come to stores and why we have to buy them and do not grow them all at home. All children asked several questions, as weworked on  our vegetable garden in the back yard. Now children love to pick up vegetables and learning to make healthy choices of food. Together we made a list of questions and went to whole foods  to find the answers to our questions.
Questions they asked...
1. Why vegetables and fruits are healthy?
2. How all vegatables and fruits taste different?
3.How does the farmers grow sooooo many vegetables and fruits?
4. How they bring it to the farmer's market and stores.
5.Why people do not grow what they want in their houses?

6.I want o try some different fruits and vegetables ,how do they taste. ( some kids wanted to try).
They asked the workers at Whole food their questions and they very gently and patiently answered their questions. Then  i asked the manager for the tour of store ,because children want to know and satisfy their curiosity. Manager sent agirl worker with us who was very knowledgeable of the store's working and opretional systems. She was gentle with children and satisfied them very well. even she did let them taste some of the exotic fruits and vegtables. Children got  ballons and stickers as token of appreciation from whole foods.

Importance of Father's involvement in the life of children.

As June approaches we talk about Father's day and the importance of Fatherly figure in the lives of a child. Some children belong to a single parent, and we do not want them to feel left out or sad for not having fathers in their lives. It is important for rest of the male figures in the life of that child to help them feel confident and cared for.As in our care i admire the involvement of Fathers who play with children ,read them stories and help them do certain stuff that seems hard to children to acomplish. So in June we did  Feild trips to parks, zoo, picnic in back yard and story reading with grand pa's and Dads.I appreciate all the involment of fathers and supporting us in helping children grow appropriately according to their developmental stage, emotionally and physically.

Fathersand mothers  in the park  serving children lunch.

Daddy helping children feed the ducks.

Children feel very confident when Fathers take interest in what they are doing.

Daddies helping moms at the zoo. It makes children learn how boys should be helping girls in life and also it teaches them about a healthy family life. If both parents are there for the child and share reponsibilities of life, children learn to  better citizens.

There is no better ride than of Daddy's shoulders.

"If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder----He needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in "
____Rachel Carson

Father's love brings the joy and colors to life.
